5 Best Homemade Dip Mix Recipes From Momma Missy’s Kitchen
Today we are sharing our favorite homemade dip mix recipes straight from the Promised Land Ranch kitchen — and we think you are going to love every single one.
Or maybe someone tucked one into a gift basket for you.
It is sitting on your counter and you are thinking —
I know I can make dip.
But what else can I do with this?
We hear that question more than you know.
And today we are answering it straight from our farmstead kitchen here at Promised Land Ranch and Goods.
Because a good homemade dip mix is one of the hardest working things you can keep in your pantry — and most people are only using about a fraction of what it can do.
“She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.” — Proverbs 31:27 KJV (BibleGateway)
Feeding your people well does not have to be complicated. Sometimes the most nourishing meals start with something simple — a little bag of good ingredients and the knowledge of what to do with it. These homemade dip mix recipes are simple, versatile, and work with every blend in the Momma Missy’s Mixes pantry.
Here are 5 things you can make with homemade dip mix that will change the way you look at that little kraft bag forever.
5 Things You Can Make With Homemade Dip Mix
1. Classic Dip — The Starting Point
This is where everyone begins and honestly it never gets old.
Stir 2 to 3 tablespoons of dry dip blend per 1 cup of sour cream, Greek yogurt, olive oil, or a blend of sour cream and mayonnaise — whichever your preference may be. There is no wrong answer at this table. Every base brings something a little different to the flavor and you will find your favorite quickly.
For the best results cover and refrigerate for at least an hour before serving. The flavors need a little time to come together and fully develop — and if you can make it the night before and let it rest overnight in the refrigerator that is truly when the magic happens.
Serve alongside crackers, fresh vegetables, chips, or thick slices of fresh sourdough bread straight from the oven.
The Smoked Bacon, Cheddar & Chive mix stirred into a sour cream and mayonnaise blend is something we are not exaggerating about when we say it will stop you mid-bite.
2. Cream Cheese Spread for Sourdough Bread
Soften a block of cream cheese and blend in 2 to 3 tablespoons of your favorite dry mix per block — though you may find you want a little more or a little less depending on your taste. That is the great part about Momma Missy’s Mixes — you can absolutely make it your way.
Once blended cover and refrigerate for at least one hour before serving. The flavors need time to come together and fully develop. If you can make it the night before and let it rest overnight in the refrigerator — that is truly when the magic happens.
Spread it thick on a warm slice of sourdough and you have something that feels like it came straight out of a farmhouse kitchen that has been doing this for generations.
The Smoked Bacon, Cheddar & Chive on cream cheese spread over warm sourdough is the kind of thing people ask you for the recipe on every single time you serve it.
The Smoked Bacon, Cheddar & Chive is hands down one of our favorite homemade dip mix recipes to serve at any gathering. Rich. Savory. Smoky. Absolutely worth every bite.

3. Compound Butter
Blend a teaspoon of your favorite dry mix into softened butter until fully combined. Roll it up in a sheet of parchment paper and refrigerate until firm.
When you are ready slice off a pat and melt it over grilled chicken, roasted vegetables, a fresh ear of corn, or a warm piece of sourdough right out of the oven.
The Garlic Herb Farmhouse and Farmhouse Garlic Blend mixes make a compound butter that will ruin you for plain butter forever.
You have been warned. 😄
4. Burger Seasoning
Work a teaspoon or two of dry mix directly into your ground beef before forming your patties. It seasons all the way through rather than just sitting on the surface — and the difference is something you will taste in every single bite.
The Smoked Bacon, Cheddar & Chive blend worked into a burger patty and pulled hot off the grill is something we are genuinely excited for you to experience this summer.
It is that good.

5. Pasta Salad or Potato Salad Dressing
Stir a teaspoon or two of dry mix into your pasta salad or potato salad dressing and watch what happens to the flavor.
The Garden Ranch and Dill Dip mixes are especially wonderful here — bright, herby, and full of the kind of flavor that makes people hover around the bowl at every gathering.
This is one of our most requested homemade dip mix recipes every single summer. This one has become a staple for us every summer and we do not see that changing anytime soon.
