Quiet Time With God — A Gentle Invitation to Come Back to the Still
There are weeks when everything feels full. Not always loud — but full in a way that quietly presses in on your heart. Responsibilities stack up. Thoughts do not settle. The day moves forward but something inside feels scattered.
And somewhere in the middle of all of it, the quiet slips away.
Not because you do not want it. But because life simply keeps moving. And before long you realize — you have not truly paused. You have not sat still long enough to breathe, let alone listen.
That is exactly why quiet time with God matters so much. Not as one more thing to add to your list — but as the one thing that steadies everything else.
Be Still and Know
“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10 KJV
Stillness is not something we stumble into. It is something we return to. Not because everything is finished. Not because the work is done. But because He is present.
We often think we need to fix everything before we can sit with Him. That we need to be caught up, organized, or in a better place. But that is not the invitation.
The invitation is simple: Come as you are. Sit anyway. Let Him meet you there.

When Quiet Time With God Feels Far Away
Quiet time with God does not have to be perfect to be meaningful. It does not have to be long. It does not have to look like anyone else’s.
Sometimes it is just a few minutes on the porch. A warm cup in your hands. An open Bible resting nearby. A breath you did not rush through.
And in that small space — you begin to feel it again. Not pressure. Not striving. But presence.
He is not waiting for you to have it all together. He is simply waiting for you.
Bringing It Back to the Table
Out here we understand rhythm. There is a time to work. A time to tend. A time to gather. A time to rest. But somewhere along the way, rest becomes the thing we push aside first.
We keep moving through the kitchen, through the chores, through the long list of what needs to be done — and we forget that even in a full life, there is still an invitation to pause. Not to escape your days — but to be strengthened within them.
Even a quiet moment before the oven warms. Even a breath between tasks. Even a pause at the table. It all counts. And it all matters to Him.

Tend Your Quiet Time With God — Journals Made for the Still Moments
Just like a garden grows better when you pay attention — your quiet time with God grows deeper when you write it down. Record what He is speaking. Note the scriptures that land on your heart. Write your prayers and leave room on the page for His answers.

This Week’s Table Challenge
Set aside one small quiet moment each day this week — even if it is only a few minutes. Not to accomplish anything. Not to fix anything. Just to step away from the noise and sit with Him.
Some days it may feel still right away. Other days your thoughts may keep moving — and that is okay too. Simply return, again and again.
Take a breath. Acknowledge His presence. Let yourself be held there, just as you are.
You Are Already Invited
You do not have to carry everything all at once. You do not have to earn a moment of stillness. You do not have to be caught up or organized or in a better place.
Your quiet time with God begins the moment you choose to show up. And He is already there waiting.
If you have been needing more of these quiet moments, you can find a simple devotional and companion journal waiting for you in the Quiet Nook.
